so i was at one of those art festivals when someone came up to me asking "so, who's your favourite painter?". to be brutally honest (i do not know why people use this term "brutally honest" cause semantically, it doesn't mean a thing, because brutal can also be a result of a lie but then again i thought, it makes a claim pretty credible. because somehow, the word brutal attracts attention similarly when one uses aggression to get his way) i can't even draw to begin with. when i was 9 i had an art teacher who was half cuckoo. she once made the class read her grocery list for her planned dinner with her husband that night. when i questioned her why we were made to read it, she was furious and asked the whole class to draw all items on her grocery list. i of course found a better way to do the assignment and drew 'a list' with what appears to be small miniature items on it and as a consequence was sent to the principal's office. until today i failed to see why i was sent to meet mr. vasudevan because it thought the list i drew was pretty awesome.

anyway. so, since i can't draw and hence not a painter myself(thank you for still reading this and keeping up with my logic) - i have no favourite in mind although i think with such beautiful russian nose i believe i would make a fine looking painter. in such situation though, one would not want to disappoint the conversation by saying "no i don't have any" or "i hate painters so you pseudo bohemian thrash can chew my socks" or "ugh art..." because social convention needs you to keep up no matter how demanding it could be.

without hesitation i answered van gogh. ive read about him a few times and i kind of like his violent brush strokes and how they affect my thoughts, its pretty strange how french impressionistic can affect me so much. again, to be brutally honest (i quite enjoy using this term and also this constant meta reference) i wasn't sure of what i was saying but it didn't matter, i remembered one of my superiors at work saying, you do not have to be 100% accurate, but only in a range of 60-70%, the rest is just merely getting into details. i thought my statement was pretty close to that.

and then she replied with a "VAN HOFF, its pronounced VAN HOFF"... i was about to argue when i thought that it wasn't my field to begin with and hence any sort of argument will just bring me deeper into the conversation exposing points of many queries. she was drinking camomile tea.

i was about to smile and walk away when i fell into a blip of brillianceness and i asked her, "didju know murakami" she said "yes" and then i said "good, perhaps then you've heard this" ... there was an element of drama in that micro pause, which ended with me saying "see this? jco donuts, and whether you take the doughnut hole as a blank space or as an entity unto the donut itself is a purely metaphysical question and does not affect the taste of the doughnut even one bit." she nodded, perhaps agreeing that i was pretty awesome. then i went on to watch a dance show which i had no idea what it was about. apparently i heard people in the audience saying it was good art.

brillianceness. is not a word.

share ramadhan

when prophet muhammad was forbade from praying at kaaba, the quran describes the front of head or 'naseyah' responsible for lying and being sinful -instead of the person doing it.

in actual fact.

the front of head or the prefrontal area located at the front of the cerebral cortex is indeed responsible for planning, motivating, and initiating good and sinful behavior and is responsible for the telling of lies and the speaking of truth.

pretty cool if that was just a guess don't you think?

Movie Reviews

so yea.
recently someone asked me - how come ive never written movie reviews on my blog. in particular malay movies. i said - shit. i don't know. well yea. maybe i should.
so over the past weeks ive been buying movies just to check them out and maybe write about them. so i bought Belukar, Andartu Terlampau, Duhai Si Pari Pari, Bohsia, Evolusi KL Drift 2 and a few more ugh i can't remember - probably because they aren't worth mentioning. Each of course costs me about 20 bucks. Pretty expensive though.

So here's my review.

Yea. Hope you enjoyed reading it.
